Lumi loved reading alone, especially on the giant turtle that carried a tiny library across the star sea. The turtle’s shell held glowing books, a lantern desk, and constellations that turned their pages when no one watched. One night Lumi found the brightest book locked tight. A silver note said it would open only when a story was shared, not kept. Lumi hugged the book. Sharing a favorite story felt risky, like letting someone hold a piece of her heart.

A shy starfish child climbed onto the shell and asked why the book glowed. Lumi almost said it was private. Instead, she read the first line aloud. The locked cover warmed. The turtle slowed so the stars could listen. With each sentence, the starfish added a tiny question, and the story grew wider than Lumi had imagined. It was still her favorite, but now it had room for another voice.

By midnight, little listeners floated around the turtle like gentle moons. Lumi passed the book from hand to hand, and every reader left a new sparkle on the cover. The giant turtle smiled in its slow turtle way and turned toward a fresh constellation. Lumi learned that sharing did not make a story smaller.
